Street Teams – Unique Ways to Engage Consumers and Create Buzz
Not Your Average Hot Dog Guy
Street team marketing has evolved over the years. It’s no longer the guy with the sandwich board walking up and down the street or the kid in the hot dog costume handing out flyers to passersby. Although these campaigns have had some success and are still popular for many shops and businesses, one drawback is that they are often limited promotions, only reaching the people who happen to encounter the person on the street with the sandwich board or handing out the flyers. And since many unattractive flyers are immediately thrown out, the campaign usually doesn’t reach many people.
GoGORILLA Raises The Bar for Street Team Marketing
GoGorilla Media has taken street team promotions to a whole new level with tactics that help companies get their message out to an audience beyond those met on the street. We have created fun street team campaigns to promote a wide variety of products and companies including TV shows, consumer goods, beverages, and many more. These campaigns create buzz and often get press coverage for their uniqueness and professional execution.
Branded Abs?
One of GoGorilla’s most successful street team promotions was for Twinlab, which sells a variety of nutritional supplements and health products for adults. GoGorilla assembled a team of young, attractive, ripped models that went on a Mobile Beach Bash to all the hot spring break and summer destinations in order to find the hottest abs in the country. The models rode in a branded jeep with RateYourAbs.com logos and even had the phrase stenciled on their own firm and well-defined abs. The GoGorilla brand ambassadors went to all kinds of fun beach events and parties, inviting people to pose for pictures and encouraging them to add their own pictures to the RateYourAbs.com website and to become fans on Facebook. GoGorilla also maintained the Facebook page and posted photos and video that showed highlights from all the places they held street team promotions. Many thousands of young people submitted their abs for the contest and enjoyed viewing and voting for their favorites. When they went to the site they also learned about Twinlab and the products they offer. Many linked the site to their own website or social media page, passing the message to even more people.
Getting on the Today Show
Another popular brand that used GoGorilla street team promotions recently was Samsung. GoMODEL teams hit the street a week before Samsung released their new dual LCD digital cameras reaching out to people and getting them excited about the new product. People were allowed to try out the cameras themselves and then upload their pictures to the Samsung website, to be viewed later by the person and their family and friends. The GoModels even targeted live television programs, appearing on the Today Show, the Early Show, and Good Morning America. Other street team promotions have been used to promote new fragrances for YSL and Michael Kors, DirecTV, Wall Street Journal, and many other popular brands.
What Makes GoMODELS So Unique?
Whether in costumes or with huge props, GoMODELS get attention with their enthusiasm and positive attitude. They are not just your average sandwhich board guy on the street, they are fun team of outgoing, young people that interact with consumers in a fun, engaging way to create a brand experience that is not soon forgotten. Fun street team options include Flashmobs, mock protests, campus tours, and fun events and games at festivals or beaches. Street team campaigns will create even more buzz when the message goes viral on the internet via social media and youtube.
